Version 1.1.0

Alright! The bug has been fixed! All board sizes are now fully operational.

Now, it's 2:26 AM for me, so this won't be super long, but I did want to get some thoughts out for what's to come:

  • The highest priority right now is changing the menu system. What currently exists was bodged together very quickly and is completely unsustainable for more development. I'm turning to `bevy_skein`, a crate I haven't used before but effectively promises to solve every problem I have with the menus right now :)
  • After that, we have an in-development multiplayer server! More details about that will be published when multiplayer officially launches, or if you'd like to take a look, the current skeleton code is on the Git repository! (found in the Credits)
  • Another thing on our to-do list is a timer for people who want a more fast-paced test of strategy, or just for those who would prefer to be held to a fair constraint. The multiplayer server will launch with an inherent maximum time between moves to protect fairness, but later versions will allow matchmaking for various time controls, analogous to Blitz/Rapid/Classical time controls in chess.
  • Something that is fully implemented but blocked behind the menu update: manyplayer! (to distinguish from multiplayer, which is 2 or more players, manyplayer is 3 or more) The player configuration menu was originally going to be significantly more extensive, but it was shelved to make something work before the jam deadline. Once the menu overhaul is complete and more things are transitioned to the in-world menu system, manyplayer will shortly follow, followed by online manyplayer!

That's all for this update; let us know if you have any questions or suggestions for the future!
